Notice To Anglers

As a result of the prolonged dry spell and falling water levels, reservoir banks have become increasingly exposed and hazardous. The risks to anglers posed by thick mud and steep, slippery slopes of loose shale are significant and cannot be ignored.

The safety of our fishing community is very important to us. We have therefore taken the difficult decision to withdraw bank fishing at Llys-y-frân.

Furthermore, again due to receding water, we have had to relocate the launch area and pontoon for safety reasons. Unfortunately, this means that we are now unable to launch our fishing boats. We regret to announce, therefore, that boat fishing has also been suspended for the foreseeable future.

As soon as it is safe to do so, we will reinstate fishing access.

Fishing at Llys-y-Frân Lake

We have excellent fishing conditions, both from bank and boat.

We regularly stock the lake with rainbow trout, and native brown trout may also be caught.

Permitted methods are fly-fishing and ledgered worm from the bank fishing areas and fly-fishing only from the boats.
