The Woodstock Cycling Route


Starting at the top, far side car park, this challenging route tackles the gnarliest sections of gravel in the woodland on the far side – and back again.

If you’re up for a challenge, this is the perfect bike ride for you!

Start at the visitor centre and head down to the bottom of the dam wall.

Having taken in the breath-taking view from the base of the dam follow the road up the hill past the memorial garden to the far side of the dam wall. From up here you have a spectacular view of the entire site and the Preseli hills in the distance.

Follow the gravel track down the hill into Walton Woods.

Along the path stop and take a rest break at some of our beautiful picnic areas on the water’s edge, with stunning views over the water.

Negotiate some of the natural hills and slopes through the Woodstock and Gwar-Y-Coed Woods home to some ancient Oak trees and a host of wildlife.

Continue along the track until you reach the bridge over the Afon Syfni. Stop here and take a break before making the return journey back, retracing your steps through the woods, ending at the Visitor Centre.
